The Breakestra Vs Hypnotic Brass Ensemble
The Breakestra/Hypnotic Brass Ensemble The Button Factory (Curved Street, Temple Bar) Thursday 26th June Admission €25 Double Header - The Breakestra & Hypnotic Brass Ensemble show has been moved to The Button Factory and is now on the changed date of Thursday 26th June Both artists have already sold out shows in London's Barbican venue on separate nights, so we cannot stress enough how good this is going to be. The Breakestra have sold out shows in ireland before...St. Patrick's Day at The Sugar Club and The Speigeltent are worthy of mention. The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble arrived in Dublin last December, blocking Grafton Street with an impromptu performance that was stopped 3 times due to the amount of people on the street. These guys made a huge impact on Dublin when they played last time and we are proud to have them touring 3 shows in Ireland for us. After these shows they will finish recording the new Gorillaz album with Damon Alburn, De La Soul & Tony Allen. We have included videos of both bands in this mailout, as words cannot do their performances justice.

Dj Krush will be making an exclusive apprearance for Choice Cuts in January Global hip-hop superstar Krush began building his career as a bedroom DJ in the mid-'80s, quickly moving into mobile DJing backing up rappers before finally turning solo with a debut in his home country of Japan. While that early style combined elements of R&B and acid jazz with the breakbeat backbone of mid-tempo hip-hop, as he's matured so has his style, branching into more abstract tracks with heavy effects and sample manipulation with smart breaks, layered textures, and a unique brand of scratching. His break into the international scene came with 1994's Strictly Turntablized and '96's Meiso, the latter of which hinted at his hip-hop roots with guest artists such as rappers Guru and CL Smooth. Since then, Krush has been rather prolific, churning out mixes and albums fairly regularly, including the mix albums Code 4109 and Tragicomic in 2000. Recently, he released Jaku, a particularly hypnotic trip that could pass for the soundtrack to a samurai movie if it weren't for intelligent hip-hop tracks like "Nosferatu." Dj Krush will be promoting his new DVD release in conjunction with this show
